URGENT: This is a grave matter that requires immediate attention. AFA, Agriculture Fairness Alliance uncovered that one of the biggest fraud schemes in food system history is taking place, and it is being ignored by the federal government and every state in the USA. This type of fraud is so corrupt & formulaic and is how livestock farmers maintain control of the food system that it could be known as FarmGate.

Livestock, dairy, and livestock feed farmers have received exorbitant amounts of overpayment through the Pandemic CFAP1 and CFAP2 programs, which provide financial assistance to farms that have experienced losses due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has found that millions of dollars in overpayment have been received by farms across the United States without the need to provide proof of losses. Agriculture Fairness Alliance (AFA) has also discovered that some farms have filed multiple claims under different business names, leading to extreme wealth being built through disaster payments.

To understand why this matters to VEGANS & those who would like to see a fair food system…the type of money stolen is how Livestock Farmers stay in power of the food system, how rural districts build huge land wealth & economic power, how gerrymandering these farms & "buying votes" through these bailouts happen and how our environment & animals suffer sequentially in the process.  

We must take action to stop this immediately. I urge you to write to your Congressmember and Senators today (using our easy template) and demand that they hold farmers who have committed fraudulent claims through the CFAP1 and CFAP2 programs accountable. The GAO (Government Accountability Office)  has provided examples of this fraud here (https://www.gao.gov/products/gao-22-104397), stating that over half of the money and over half of the producers in the meat, dairy, and livestock feed farms sectors received an overpayment. Do not allow this outrageous abuse of taxpayer funds to continue.

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on our country, affecting every aspect of our lives, including our economy and our ability to access food. While the government has provided much-needed assistance to many Americans and industries, it is deeply concerning to see that some are taking advantage of the system, stealing millions of dollars in funds intended for struggling farmers.

The Farm Service Agency (FSA) needs to enforce stricter rules and regulations to prevent this type of fraud, and those farmers who have purposely gamed the system should be held accountable for their actions. At a minimum, these farms should be barred from receiving future assistance.
